Oral family history says that Buddy commited suicide soon after 1900. Probably his death occurred before 1910. He has not been found in the 1910 census. No death record has been found, which strongly suggests he was dead before 1915.

His birth date is from notes made by his half siter Martha Lambert Hallman. His grave is unknown. The family buried in Sampit Methodist Church Graveyard, and he may be buried there.
