Marvin Gregg, 75, of Pana, Illinois died Thursday, December 6, 2007 in Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, Illinois. He was born January 11, 1932 in Beecher City, Illinois the son of Lane and Beulah Ollinger Jackson.
Marvin was a graduate of Beecher City High School, a member of the U.S. Navy, and lived his entire life in the Pana, Illinois and Tower Hill, Illinois areas. Marvin retired from Caterpillar in 1985. He enjoyed all types of car racing, and was a member of the Pana Elks Lodge #1261.
Marvin married Mary Swisher in 1982. They were later divorced.
Marvin is survived by his former wife, Mary Gregg, Pana, Illinois; children: John Swisher & wife Sharon, Stonington, Illinois; Darrell Swisher & wife Sandi, Pana, Illinois; Terry Swisher, Pana, Illinois; Jim Swisher, Shelbyville, Illinois; Debbie Burton & husband Michael, Assumption, Illinois; Bob Swisher & wife Reta, Pana, Illinois; Brenda Hill & husband Mike, Nokomis, Illinois; Roger Gregg & wife Kelli, Nokomis, Illinois; & Marla Young, Sparta, Tennessee; 12 Grandchildren; 17 Great Grandchildren; brother, Bill Ollinger, Assumption, Illinois; & sister, Sharon Lawson, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents & daughter, Barbara Jo Swisher.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 9, 2007 from 5 to 8 p.m. in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home Pana, Illinois with Elks rites at 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, December 10, 2007 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home Pana, Illinois at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Allen Ebbler officiating. Burial will be in Beecher City Cemetery, Beecher City, Illinois.
Memorials may be made to the Illinois Elks Crippled Children Corporation, Chatham, Illinois.
