Prominent City Woman Passes
Mrs. Charles Thomas Lamb, of 42 West Mechanic street, one of Shelbyville's most prominent residents, died at the Methodist hospital in Indianapolis at 2:37 p.m. Tuesday after an illness of over a month. She was seventy-six at the time of her death.
Coming to Shelbyville twenty-one years ago, Mrs. Lamb had taken an active interest in community affairs throughout her residence here. She was prominent in affairs of the First Presbyterian church of which she was a member.
Mrs. Lamb spent most of her lifetime in Hannibal, Mo., where she moved as a small child with her parents, Cornelius and Elizabeth Voorhis. She was born December 21, 1864, in St. Louis, Mo. She moved to New London, Mo., shortly before coming to Shelbyville in the fall of 1920.
On December 4, 1888, she was married to Mr. Lamb and two children were born to them. They are Mrs. Mary DePrez, of this city, and Charles Thomas Lamb, of Indianapolis. Her husband preceded her in death.
Besides the children, Mrs. Lamb is survived by five grandchildren, the Misses Mary Lamb DePrez, Margaret Emelie DePrez and Ann DePrez, all of this city, and Thomas and James Lamb of Indianapolis.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Funeral services for Mrs. Charles Thomas Lamb, who died Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist hospital, Indianapolis, will be held this afternoon at the Edwards & Kohlmeyer funeral parlors, at 4:00 o'clock, with Dr. C. A. Bowler in charge. Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery.
