Mrs. Joyce Ellen Jones, 40, Edgerton, in Johnson County, died Thursday at the Olathe Communiy Hospital, (she was pronounced dead there but she actually died in the parking lot of her job, sitting in the car, from a heart attack). She was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Jones was a program supervisor for the city of Olathe for more than five years. She leaves her husband, Jerry W. Jones of the home, a son, Paul W. Jones, Olathe, two daughters, Mrs. Julie Ellen Brown, Louisiana and Mrs. Jina Dawn Moore, Edgerton, two step-daughters: Mrs. Jo Ann Laughlin, Lubbock, Texas and Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Sandybock, Texas and a half brother, Corky Western (Carlos) of Iowa, a half sister, Mrs. Janet Jones, Tonganoxie, Kansas and seven grandchildren.
Burial in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Her maiden name was Abarr. She was the daughter of Alta Ellen Scobee and Ardath Dale Abarr. She was married twice. 1st to Paul Jones with whom she had 2 children, 2nd to Jerry Jones, a cousin of Paul, with whom she had 1 child, Jina Dawn Jones Moore.
