Eupha Nell Furgerson was born March 7, 1918 in the Newburg Township of Hughes County, Oklahoma, often referred to as Atwood.

At three years of age, Eupha and her older brother Bernard moved with their parents to Arizona. They arrived on April 1921 in Old Goodyear, Arizona, a town that is no longer. Eupha Nell's maternal grandparents, James Taylor and Sarah Jane (Ritter) Farrell left Newburg near this same year with their youngsest daughter, Ila Alice and her husband Arthur Cannon and their three sons, Clyde, Cecil and Carl.

Sometime later she, her parents and grandparents left for Lindsay, Tulare, California. In this location Eupha was examined by a doctor in Pixley, Tulare County, CA. At this time it was sugested she relocate to a warmer/dryer climate. The Furgerson family returned to Arizona at the doctor's suggestion.

In 1923 Eypha's family returned to Newburg, Oklahoma where her youngest sister , Rosa Bell was born on April 21, 1923.

By 1925 Eupah's family had returned to Old Goodyear, Arizona where she attended first though third grades.

On March 17, 1923 Sarah Jane, Eupha's grandmother died in Chandler, Arizona and is buried in the Mesa Cemetery, Mesa, Arizona. Sarah Jane sustained a fatal stoke.

Eupha's yougest sister, Vera Mae was born May 24, 1927 in Old Goodyear, AZ and died August 2, 1928. She is buried next to her maternal grandparents and cousin Thomas Jarret Ritter in the Mesa Cemetery, Mesa, Arizona.

In 1927 Eupha's family moved to the Casa Grande area for a short time where her father and uncle, Authur Cannon farmed one crop.

In 1928 the Furgerson family had returned to Chandler, AZ where her father and a friend, Mr. Underhill, sold cars, while living out-of-town with James Taylor Farrell on his small farm. Eupha completed the fifth, six and seventh grades in Chandler, AZ and granduated from the eight grand in Chandler.

On January 22, 1931, Eupha's youngest brother, Harold Dwayne was born in Chandler.

In 1932 Eupha's father got a new job running a cotton gin and the family moved to Buckeye, AZ and this is where Eupha started her freshman year. During this school year the family returned to Chandler, AZ where Eupha completed the ninth grade.

In 1933 the Furgerson's moved to Marionette near Peoria, AZ. where her father took a job with Goodyear Farms. Eupha started her sophomore year in Peoria, AZ. and completed her high school education at Peoria high school.

Eupha lived in Litchfield Park, AZ for nearly two more years where she married on December 19, 1936 in Peoria, AZ to Glen Thurman.

Eupha was a constant member of her faith and a Charter member of the Nazarene Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband and grandson Stephen Kent Goetzenberger.
