Donald Joseph Buse
Donald Buse was born on May 16, 1934 on a farm near Iona, Minnesota to Lloyd and Leona Galles Buse. He grew up on the farm and graduated from St. Columba High School in 1952. Following high school Donald attended St. Mary's Seminary in Winona, MN. On October 21, 1955 Donald enlisted in the United States Navy. On June 16, 1958 he and Noriko Nishi were married in Yokahama, Japan. Donald served in the United States Navy for 20 years. Following his retirement in 1976 they moved to a farm near Avoca. Donald passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the Murray County Medical Center in Slayton at the age of 76. He was a member of St. Columba Church in Iona. Donald taught religious education at St. Ann's in Slayton. Donald was a very prayerful man. Donald enjoyed praying, gardening, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Noriko Buse of Avoca, MN, four children Stephanie and her husband, Christopher Schaefer of St. Cloud, MN, Jennifer Buse of Mound, MN, Angela Buse of Slayton, MN, and Vincent Buse of Galloway, OH, four grandchildren, Andrea Schaefer, Chandler Schaefer, Sarah Schaefer, and Isaac Buse, ten siblings and their spouses, Dale and Suzie Buse of Auburn, CA, Joanne and Roger Halbur of Slayton, MN, Carol and Donald Mondry of Lake Wilson, MN, Jim and Judy Buse of Woodstock, MN, Connie and Darwin Johnson of Woodstock, MN, Virginia and Walt Warren of Iona, MN, Mary and Bob Hill of Hadley, MN, Marcia and Don Arkell of Madelia, MN, Gerry Buse of St. James, MN, and Christine Buse of Slayton, MN, one brother-in-law, Delwin Roemer of Lake Wilson, MN, He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Kenneth Buse and his wife, Margereta, and one sister, Shirley Roemer.
