Minnie Alice Kirchner, 87, of Kahoka, died Sunday, August 18, 1996, in Keokuk (Iowa) Area Hospital. A Lee County, Iowa, native, Mrs. Kirchner was born July 12, 1909, a daughter of William "Babe" and Emma E. Mortimer Arnold. She married Albert Peter Kirchner March 14, 1928, in Kahoka. He died July 8, 1971. Mrs. Kirchner was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka and the Better Home Builders at Bluff Springs Church. Survivors include three sons, Arnold Kirchner of Wyaconda, Robert Kirchner of Canton and Charles Kirchner of Hillsboro, Iowa; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Rovene) Uhlmeyer of St. Patrick; two sisters, Wilma Walls of Kahoka, and Mrs. Norbert "Bunch" (Dorothy) Bennett of Alexandria; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother in infancy; three sisters, Verna Gatton, Vera Ridgely and Vergie Campbell; a grandson, Christopher L. Kirchner; and a great-granddaughter. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 20, in St. Paul United Church of Christ by the Rev. Kenneth Beckmann. Burial was in Kahoka Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ or the Clark County Ambulance.
