William Vessie Bain was the son of John James Bain and Margaret Vessie. F.A.G has her listed as VOSSIE. it is incorrect. I have the names of her parents, but since they were born and died in Scotland, I can't link their tree.

John James Bain and Margaret came to America with William Bain and Mary MacKenzie in the mid 1800's. They went on to Canada with some of their children and spouses. John James Bain, Robert Bain and Alexander Bain stayed in America. Robert and his family eventually went to Iowa. Alexander, after marriage in NY, and five (of 7 daughters) went to "godforsaken Nebraska" ,as my grandmother called it, and John James Bain and family eventually went to Vermont. Those Scottish Highlanders loved cold weather!

William Vessie Bain was married to Mary Agnes Reynolds. I can't find a grave for her. I'm wondering if they divorced or she died. All I could find was William D. Bain for their son, b 1858 Brookely Kings-Kings New York. He was married to Katherine "Kitty" M Austin.

Since William Vessie Bain died in Lincoln, NE, I am assuming the records I have found for a William D. Bain in Lincoln are for his son, but I won't make that claim without proper documentation.
