Chas. Smallwood died Tuesday at the home near Hurdland. His death was caused by heart failure. The remains were held until Thursday afternoon, thinking his brothers from California would come but they could not. Funeral services were conducted at the church in Hurdland Thursday afternoon and interment made in the local cemetery.
He is survived by a widow and one son six years old.
