Harriet Dickinson was born July 1845 in Texas. She was married to Edward Dickinson now deceased; She died at her home in Riverside on Wednesday, August 30, 1911 in Arkansas. Ed was an old time colored man and for sometime after the close of the Civil War was the only Colored
barber Van Buren, Arkansas had, he was respected by all and the remains of his family are fast passing away.

Harriet Dickinson's testimony was a vital part in Lydia Talkington's application for John Talkington's Civil War Pension October 17, 1893 without her testimony it would never have happened. The Walton's have never forgotten her help. The words written on her stone reads "A LOVING MOTHER AND FRIEND TOTALLY". That is without question.
