An excerpt from the Westerville weekly newspaper Public Opinion, Jan 5, 1956:

TWO LOCAL MEN KILLED IN KILGORE EXPLOSION
Two explosions and a fire killed two local men and seriously burned the wife of one of the men at the Kilgore Farm north east of Westerville last Thursday morning. Killed instantly by the initial explosion were Daniel G. Kahler, 44, of 117 East Brroadway and Charles Cox, 45, of Africa Road. Cox was the father of six children. Kahler was a foreman at the plant.

Cox Services. Cox was survived by his wife, Anna, six children, Jean, Sherman, Janie, Dale, Lewis and Chester: a grandchild; all of Westerville; his mother Mrs. Sarah Cox; seven brothers and three sisters. Funeral services were held Saturday in Frank E. Hill Funeral Home with Rev Leroy Wilcox officiating. Burial was in Otterbein Cemetery.
