We knew her as Laurie. She is the first grand-daughter of Charles Eastman Trousdale, sr. of Davidson County, Tennessee and Florence June Steffy of Montana. She was a blond-haired, blue-eyed child who liked to throw her eye-glasses over the neighbors' fence when she stayed with her Uncle Chiz and Aunt Mary's house in Long Beach, CA. She was a free spirit.
Laurel attended Newport Harbor high school, and then the San Francisco conservatory of music, earning her batchelors degree. She played the piano beautifully. At this point, she traveled to the East Coast, settling in Baltimore, Maryland. She then went on to achieve a law degree from Towson State University. She was an editor of the law review, and became the clerk for the chief justice of the superior court in Maryland. At the time of her passing, she had achieved the position as Carroll county's chief attorney. Her family is extremely proud of Laurie's accomplishments. She demonstrated many admirable qualities, not unlike her Trousdale ancestors from Tennessee, who also practiced law and held state office in the last century.
After suffering from a short illness at home, she passed away suddenly. We miss her dearly.
