In Elmira he was a very prominent physician and surgeon.
He was married to Grace Amanda Smith, daughter of Dr. Nathaniel Smith. Grace was born September 30, 1829 in Bennington, VT. They were married December 5, 1850. She died February 11, 1898 in Elmira, NY. They had three children, Dr. Charles L. Squire, Elmira, who died in 1928; Mrs. Hamilton B. (Caroline) Brown and Mrs. Winfield Scott (Frances Boardman) Potter of Minneapolis.
Dr. Truman H. Squire died at Elmira last week, aged 65. He was one of the veteran physicians and surgeons of the Southern Tier, and one of the ablest and most distinguished.
He invented medical appliances which had a world-wide fame.

His daughter Prof. Frances Squire Potter was the author of the novel "The Ballingtons" and was the secretary of the National Suffrage Association.
