OBITUARY:

PORTAND -- Sarah Tobah Weinstein, widow of William Weinstein, passed away on April 25, 2011, at the age of 93.
She was born in Brunswick on Feb. 7, 1918, the eldest daughter of Harry and Gussie Mack. Her family moved to Portland when she was in her early teens. Sarah graduated from Portland High School with honors in 1963. She was married to William Weinstein in 1940.
After graduation, she worked as a bookkeeper and clerk in Day's Jewelry Store on Congress Street in Portland and also in Westbrook and remained with them for 56 years.
Sarah enjoyed playing Mah Jong with her many friends for many years and traveled quite a bit, especially cruises with her daughters and their friends, and has had the pleasure of spending recent winters in Florida with them.
She was predeceased by her only sister, Ruth Shulman of Waterville. She is survived by her children, Jeffrey and Mary Weinstein of Yarmouth, Elaine and Stuart Cohen of Lake Worth, Fla., David Weinstein of Rhode Island and Nyk Fry of Utah; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Sarah was a member of Temple Beth El of Portland.
Services will be held at The Level Chapel, 471 Deering Ave., Portland, on Friday, April 29, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Temple Beth El Memorial Park. Arrangements by The Jewish Funeral Home.
Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one's choice
