Rites for Jos. Nieland

Funeral services were held Friday at St. Mary's in Guttenberg, the Rev. _lbert Blong officiating, for Joseph H. Nieland, who died March 14, 1972 at age 78.

Mr. Nieland was a farmer, and he worked in what is now the __ C office, having been there when the federal program was ___ known as Agriculture Ad___tment Agency.

He was born in Jefferson township on January 26, 1894. His parents were Henry and Anna ___ Nieland.

On May 18, 1926 he was united in marriage with Clara Schmitt __ St. Lucas. Mrs. Nieland survives, as do three children, 11 grandchildren and a brother. The childen are: Marvin Nieland, Guttenberg; Mrs. Don (Betty) Evers, Guttenberg; and Mrs. Robert (Darlene) Gerken, Dubuque. The brother is Greg Nieland, Garnavillo.

The scripture wake service was held Thursday evening at the Tuecke-Allenstein Funeral Home ____. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery.

Pallbearers were Owen Kann, ___ Evers, Jeff Evers, Kenneth ____ehring, Lyle Schaal and ___coln Kraus.
