Jack was born Sept. 12, 1926 in Morgan County to James B. and Ina Ray.
Jack was a self-employed painter in Indianapolis and Worthington. He retired in 1989.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and Korean War. He was a life member of Worthington V.F.W. Post 7117. He was past Commander of Worthington & Speedway V.F.W.'s and had been a member of the V.F.W. for more than 65 years.
Jack is survived by daughter Pam (Kenneth) Stalcup, Switz City; son Randall Ray, Indianapolis; grandson Brett (Brandy) Dyar, Lebanon; great-granddaughter, Chloe; two step-grandsons, Kevin and Darin (Karen) Stalcup; step-great-grandchildren, Madyson, Piper and Lily; sister, Patty Bolander, Greenwood; special niece, Ruby Brown, Florida.
He was preceded in death by parents, 11 brothers and sisters.
Memorial service will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 12 noon on Saturday, May 7 until time of service.
Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery at a later date.
Military rites will be at the funeral home after the service.
