Artis Addison, 66, of Toccoa, died Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at Athens Regional Hospital.
Born Aug. 26, 1940, in Stephens County, he was a son of the late Doyle and Eva Chitwood Addison. He also was preceded in death by three brothers, Blant Addison, Beck Addison and Burchel Addison; and, a grandson, Eric Anthony Addison.
He had lived in Easley, S.C., for 12 years before moving back to Toccoa. He worked in commercial construction for a number of years and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Mark Anthony and Jennifer Addison of Dahlonega; two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa Lynn and Bob Lapole of Easley, S.C., and Karen Ann and Gary Bright of Greenville, S.C.; two sisters, Euline Johnson and Ophelia Fulbright, both of Toccoa; one brother, Melvin Addison of Martin; sisters-in-law, Edith Addison and Carolyn Addison, both of Toccoa; brother-in-law, Dan Fulbright of Toccoa; five grandchildren, Casandra Addison, Christa Hines, Kaylyn Addison, Shelby Bright and Joshua Bright; and, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held today (Thursday), July 5, from the chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Jerrell Beatty and the Rev. Andy Childs officiating. Interment will follow in Stephens Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Fadhir Farfan, Bob Lapole, Chris Lapole, Billy Mote, Evan Rider, Hunter Addison, Tony Addison and Clayton Rider.
Whitlock Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
