Daughter of John Drayton Haynes, Sr. and Nancy Bogle, widow of James Bogle. Wife of Alexander Kincaid "Aleck" Watt whom she married in Noxubee County, MS on 08 Dec 1853.

Husband owned a dry goods store in Lind Grove while steambooks plied up and down Bayou Bartholomew. With the building of the railroad, Lind Grove declined.

Childless except for daughter who died at age 2. Emma Rebecca Haynes and Julia Haynes, Mary's younger half-sisters, lived with them.
