RITES ARE HELD


Young Rutherford Farmer

Dies Near Walter Hill


Shelah Phillips, well known young Rutherford county farmer died at his home near Walter Hill. He was held in high esteem by all who knew him and was active in all community and business affairs.


Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock by the Revs. Robertson and Dillon at Powells Chapel Baptist church.


Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Erie Morgan Phillips and two small children, Dorris and Robert; one brother, Herbert S. Phillips; three sisters, Mrs. R. C. Henderson, Mrs. B. F. Peyton and Mrs. Matthew Nixon, all of Walter Hill, and several neices and nephews.


Honorary pallbearers were: C. M. Pearcy, J. E. McCrary, O. N. Mann, E. L. Jones, T. H. Summar and J. H. Short. Active pallbearers were: Winfred Henderson, Hulon Phillips, J. B. Peyton, Lewis Leslie and Frank Scott.


Interment was in Evergreen cemetery under the direction of J. A. Bond, Norene.
