MINERVA RUTH ADAMS HAMPTON, age 81, Meadow Lane, Cynthiana, died Friday, July 28, 2006, at Harrison Memorial Hospital. Born in Harrison County, March 17, 1925, to the late McKinley and Angie Hill Adams, she was a homemaker and a member of the Cynthiana Christian Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Maxie Lou Fryman.

She is survived by her husband and best friend of 63 years, Melvin E. Hampton; a son, Bruce (Rosanne) Hampton, Harrison County; two daughters, Angela Hampton Jacobs, Lexington and Mary Chris Hampton, Cynthiana; a brother, John William "Muff" (Shirley) Adams, Lebanon, Tennessee; a sister, Margaret (Houston) Rose, Cynthiana; three grandchildren, Heather L. (Matt) Moore, Mary E. (Joey) Grubb and Edgar Wesley Hampton and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Ware Funeral Home by Dr. Larry Bishop. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cynthiana Christian Church Building Fund, 202 N. Main Street, Cynthiana, KY 41031 or the Alzheimer's Association, 3703 Taylorsville Rd., Suite 102, Louisville, KY 40220-1330.
