At the time of his death, Bing was married to Evangelyn Rocile Lingren (Van), and was step-father to Darla, Mac, and Dave Crockett. Bing retired from Pan American Airways where he was employed as a mechanic for 38 years. In 1978, he was given the first Carol E. Thomas award. He was chosen from 30,000 employees for his dedication to the company.
