Napoleon B. Mack, of Eugene, aged 62 years, died on Wednesday night of last week, of la grippe, followed by pneumonia. During the last term of court at this place, he stumbled and fell down 6 or 8 steps of the courthouse stairway, injuring himself quite severely, and from which hurt he had not fully recovered when attacked with la grippe and pneumonia.
His funeral took place in the forenoon of Saturday last, Rev. Thomas Griffith of Montezuma preaching the discourse. The deceased was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and always lived a consistent Christian life. He lost one of his legs by accident when quite a small boy, and had followed he profession of school teaching since a young man for a livelihood.
