Services were held Tuesday for Calista Bisbee Hartley, 84, of 193 S. Lake St., who passed away Saturday, April 6, 1991, at her home.
She was born in North East, July 22, 1906, a daughter of the late Frank W. and Clara White Bisbee. She has been a lifelong resident of the North East area. She received her teaching degree from Edinboro Normal School and had been a school teacher in North East Township for several years. She was also a member of the Women's Relief Corps in North East.
She had owned and operated the Brooklyn Grocery Store in North East from 1949 to 1967. She was formerly employed as a homemaker in North East for several years and worked at Hartley's Grocery Store.
She leaves 3 daughters, 11grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur L. Hartley; and four brothers, Roger, Jarvis, Paul and Floyd Bisbee.
Arrangements were handled by the William D. Elkin Funeral Home. Services were held there with the Rev. Damon Peterson officiating.
Interment was at North East Cemetery.
