The deceased was a native of France, having been born there, Nov. 15, 1833 (1834) and was 84 years of age. When still a young girl she came to this country. She was united in marriage to Amandus Woeber in Cincinnati, in 1851. Mr Woeber preceded her in death, Oct 12 1905 (should be Oct 7 1905). Her maiden name was Miss Thresa Jenes (Schannes). In 1853 she came to Davenport, and has since resided here. She was the mother of 12 children, nine of whom survive her death.
Forty-three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.
Mrs Woeber was well know in the Tri-Cities and had a host of friends who will mourn her passing. She was a member of the Christian Mothers' Society of St. Joseph's church and was one of the first members of the parish when it was opened.
The funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 8:30 o'clock from the late residence, 906 West Seventh street, (now 702 Warren St.). Services will be held at nine o'clock at St. Joseph's church. Interment in the Holy Family cemetery."
Rev. Anthony Schoeningh was celebrant of a solemn requiem mass, assisted by Rev. F. Lawler deacon, and Rev. H. Reinbold as sub-deacon. Rev. N. Meinhardt was present in the sanctuary. Rev Schoeningh pronounced the burial absolution and preached the funeral sermon, and als officiated at the grave in Holy Family cemetery.
