Mrs. Ethel Mae Brumbelow, age 87, of of 341 Old Wax Road, Aragon, passed away Monday afternoon at a local health care center.

A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Brumbelow was born June 13, 1915, daughter of the late William Wade Agan and the late Beulah Irene Chafin Agan. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Brumbelow was a member of the Flint Hill Baptist Church where she was a member of the Friendship Club and the Adults Ladies Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Edward Brumbelow on Dec. 10, 1973; by a son, Gene Brumbelow on Dec. 11, 2002; by a sister, Mrs. Adell Scoggins; and by four brothers, Willis Agan, Willard Agan, Wallace Agan and Edwin Agan.

Survivors include two sons, Edgar "Ed" Brumbelow and his wife, Charlotte, of Aragon and Alfred Brumbelow and his wife, Gail, of Aragon; a sister, Mrs. Virginia Ballinger of Smyrna; a brother, Johnny Agan of Aragon; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Brumbelow will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Flint Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Spears officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Brumbelow will lie in state at the church Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour.

Mrs. Brumbelow will be carried to the Flint Hill Baptist Church today at 6 p.m. where the family will receive friends until 8 p.m. At other hours they may be contacted at the residence of a son and daughter-in-law, Alfred and Gail Brumbelow, Old Wax Road, Aragon.

Both Active and Honorary pallbearers are asked to assemble at the Flint Hill Baptist Church Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. and include: Active: Don Agan, Wayne Agan, Frank Folsom, Wilburn Agan, Michael Ballinger and Kenneth Scoggins. Honorary: Melvin Yarbrough, James Davenport, Waymon Brumbelow, Billy Joe Scoggins and Houston Brumbelow.

Henderson & Sons Funeral Home has charge of the funeral arrangements.
