Son of William Griffith and Sally (Wheeler) Griffith. Married Eudocia A. Parke 29 Oct 1876. Served with Union Army 4 yrs in Civil War -Co. E 32nd Regiment Iowa Infantry. Moved to S.Dakota in 1871 and N.Dakota in 1902. Father of six children - William, Harriet, Lillie, Harry, Mary and Ethel. Son William died 09 Sep 1942 in Monterey Co, California (burial place is unknown).
