COMANCHE — April 15, 1913 — April 23, 2011

Gladys Ruby Curtis peacefully passed away on Saturday evening, April 23, 2011 in the Meridian Nursing Home at the age of 98. A funeral service will be held Thursday April 28 at 10 a.m. at Ray of Hope Church, with Bro. James "Robbie" Fox, and Bro. Dow Pannell officiating. Interment will be at 1 p.m. at Ryan Cemetery, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday 9 a.m. until 6 p.m., and Wednesday 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. The family will be receiving friends from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday evening.

Gladys was born April 15, 1913 in Nocona, Texas to John Wesley and Della Phene (Starkey) Goss. She was a lifelong resident of this area. She and Robert Trout Curtis were married August 16, 1932 in Waurika. Gladys loved gardening, flowers, and collecting rocks but more than anything she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons: Billy Curtis and wife Joan, Geronimo; Johnny Curtis and wife Rita, Comanche; and Bobby Curtis, Duncan; three daughters: Joyce Bewley and husband Junior, Enid; Ina Lawson, Comanche; and Glenda Baker, Duncan; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, in May 2002, two daughters: Reba June Curtis and Deloris Ann Curtis; three brothers and seven sisters.
