NOTED PREACHER DIED AT EDINA
EDINA, Mo., Sept. 12—The funeral of Rev. Thomas H. Tatlow took place here yesterday afternoon. Rev. Tatlow died at his home in Edina Sunday morning. He was about 85 years old and was one of the most prominent ministers of the Presbyterian church in the state. He had been pastor of the Presbyterian church in Edina for over fifty years, a record seldom equaled by any minister. Rev. Tatlow was recognized as one of the leaders of the Presbyterian denomination and his counsel was sought in all important questions. Besides sisters and brothers he leaves two daughters who reside in Edina. He was a brother of Mrs. Milton Strong and F. M. Tatlow of Hannibal.

REV. THOMAS H. TATLOW HAD BEEN PASTOR OF THE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH FOR OVER FIFTY YEARS.

OBITUARY
Our community was saddened by the announcement of the death of Rev. Thos. H. Tatlow which occurred on last Sunday morning at about eight o'clock.
The closing chapter of this long and useful life was marked by the utmost calm and resignation. Friends from far and near gathered to pay a last tribute of respect to the memory of one who had shared their joys and griefs for half a century, and it was with a grief softened to the sorrow of a temporary parting that they took a last look at the peaceful face of their departed pastor.
The following is a copy of a paper found in the writing desk of Rev. Thomas Hyatt Tatlow, written at the time he went to Hannibal, Missouri, to have an operation performed on his eyes for cataract, April 9th, 1907. The result of this operation was quite successful, enabling him to see and work much better.
"I was born in New Castle County, Delaware, April 9th, 1829. I was converted to Christ, by faith in Him as the Savior of the world, in May, 1847. I was constrained to prepare to preach the Gospel in August of the same year. I was licensed to preach the Gospel in May 1852, by the Presbytery of Cincinnati, Ohio, and ordained by the Presbytey of Northern Missouri, in October 1853; and by this Presbytery appointed to supply the churches for new Providence, Marion County; the church of Newark, Knox County; and The church of Sugar Creek, Lewis County. In 1859 I was installed pastor of the churches of Newark and new Providence for a few years, while I was a resident of Newark. I organized the churches of Edina and Knox City in 1866. From that time inward, while residing in Edina, beginning in 1874, I preached for a few years at a time alternately to Edina, Newark, New Providence and churches in Adair and Shelby counties."

The following data is given by his daughters:
"He was married in Palmyra, Missouri, December 20, 1854, to Miss Susan Lafon, of that city. To this union were born two daughters, Mrs. C. Q. Hardman and Mrs,. M. G. Biggerstaff, who survive him. He died Sunday, September 10th, 1911, aged 82 years, 5 months and 1 day."

The funeral was from the Presbyterian church. The service was solemn and beautiful and was conducted by Rev. F. Brooks of the Presbyterian church, assisted by Rev. W. H. Youst of this city. The flower laden casket was borne by those whose lives he had helped to consecrate, and the mortal remains of their beloved minister and friend were tenderly laid to rest beside those of his wife in Linville cemetery.
