Aaron Hilson was the son of Dewitt, 54, and Elizabeth Hilson, 46, brother of Polly P., 13, Dewitt H., 6, Lewizar E. J. 4, and relative Anner Hilson, 47, all Georgia born.
(1860 US Census, Militia District 1169, Glascock Co., GA).

Aaron was a Veteran of the Civil War serving in the Confederate States Army in Company A, 48th GA., Inf. (Compiled Service Records of Confederate Soldiers Who Served in Organizations from the State of Georgia , Affiliate Publication Number: M266 , Affiliate Film Number: 492)

He died 9 Mar 1914, and is buried here in with a Veterans CSA marker which is not very readable, in the Braddy-Hilson Cemetery in Glascock county, GA.,
(Braddy Cemetery, Mitchell, Glascock Co., GA., Grave stone request, United States Headstone Applications for U.S. Military Veterans dated 3 Jun 1931 by applicant Mrs. Lee Walden 26 May 1931).

The cemetery is just a few graves, and has been abandoned and is overgrown. Others may be buried there, but without markers anymore.

He was married 31 Aug 1865 to Sarah Jane Beckworth in Militia District 1169, Glascock Co., GA.,
(Georgia Marriages 1808-1967), (Georgia Co., Marriages 1785-1950)

Aaron and Sarah were living in Glascock Co., in 1870 with children; and living nearby to the Thomas, Linson, and Wiley Braddy families, (recorded as Brady), and all were farmers and race was white, interesting however there are black families nearby with both names Brady and Linson also.
(1870 US Census, Glascock Co., GA.) Thomas also was in the same CSA unit of Co A, 48th GA Inf as was Aaron, and is also buried here in the same cemetery.

Sarah Jane must have died and between 1865-1873 as Aaron was later married in Glascock Co., GA., on 30 Aug 1873, to Ruth A. E. Braddy.
(Georgia Marriages 1808-1967), (Georgia Co., Marriages 1785-1950)

Ruth must have died between 1873 and 1883, as he later remarried again to Margia Stocks on 6 Sep 1883 in Johnson Georgia. In 1900 he was shown as being born Dec 1843, age 56, and living with wife Margie E., 43, and children; Clinton, 15, Linton, 12, Dolly, 1, Linson, 26, Aunt Anna, and servant Will Hilson. The Braddy's are still living nearby and are recorded correctly this time as Braddy, and not Brady. (1900 US Census, District 1169, Mitchell, Glascock Co., GA), (Georgia Co., Marriages 1785-1950),(Georgia Marriages 1808-1967)

1910 shows Aaron age 66, living with wife Mae 55, who I assume is Margie as there are no other marriages listed for him. They are with children; Linton, 22, and daughter Dally, (must be Dollie), age 20.
(1910 US Census, Mitchell, Glascock Co., GA.)
