MRS. MARION MITCHELL

Martha Alta Wright, tenth child of William B. and Martha Wright, was born on June 4, 1894, at Florence, Kans., and departed this life on May 30, 1956, at the age of 61 years, 11 months and 26 days.

She came to Iowa with her parents when she was four years old and settled in Warren county. Her childhood was spent in Warren and Clarke counties. She united with the M. E. church at Medora, Iowa, at the age of 19, later transferring to the Christian Union church at Chariton.

She was united in marriage to Marion Mitchell at Lucas on Sept. 7, 1915.

She leaves to mourn their loss, besides her husband, five daughters, Pearline, Margaret, Frances, Lena and Betty, and two sons, Dean and Leo, four sons-in-law and one daughter-in-law, 15 grandchildren, two step-daughters, one step-son and seven step-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Mary Ruble of Indianola, Mrs. Etta Pressley of Osceola, Mrs. George Snell of Osceola, Mrs. Harry Willey of Creston, and five brothers, Tom and Perle Wright of Des Moines, Claude Wright of Estherville, Scott Wright of Alden, Minn., Forrest Wright of Burlington, Kansas, and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, and an infant son. She was a devoted wife and loving mother.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 2, 1956, at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church in Lucas, the Rev. P. H. Blunt officiating, with interment in Fry Hill cemetery.
