BOONEVILLE - Esther B. Cook, 85, died Sunday, March 29, 1998, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after a long illness. She was born April 14, 1912, in Rienzi to John Oscar Brown and Olive Vanderford Brown. She was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Booneville for 52 years and remained active until her health failed. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a retired seamstress, working for several garment factories in Prentiss County. She enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing and working in her flower garden.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Clyde Hicks and Bro. Jerry Holland officiating. Burial will be in Booneville Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Clyde C. Cook, whom she married May 15, 1936; one daughter, Bernice Peter of Henderson, Tenn.; three sons, Vernon A. Cook of Rienzi, and Bruce Cook and William Boyd Cook, both of Booneville; three sisters, Lerlean Ashcraft and Ruth Ashcraft, both of Booneville, and Mary Murphy of St. Louis, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Gaylon Young, Robert Cook, John Cook, Mark Peter, Randy Isbell and Mike Reed. Honorary pallbearers will be Ann Crabb, Linda Wallace, Ann Floyd and Jackie Moore.

Visitation will continue at the funeral home until service time. Memorials may be made to the Missionary Fund at the First United Pentecostal Church, P. O. Box 395, Booneville, Miss. 38829.
