J. Charles Keegan,
Ex-Newspaper Owner, Dies at 72
J. Charles Keegan, 72. of Skaneatfles Falls died yesterday in
Auburn Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
A native of Mottvllle. he was an accountant. He was a communicant of St. Bridget's Church
In Skaneatele* Falls and a member of its Holy Name Society.
He was formerly chairman of the Democratic Party of the Town
of Skaneateles. member of the Skaneateles Palis Civic Association and former owner of the
Skaneateles Democrat, a weekly newspaper. He sold the paper to Hopper in 1922. The paper
was later consolidated with the Skaneateles Tree Press which is now the Skaneateles Press.
After selling the Democrat he became asocla'ed with the Skaneateles Boat A Canoe Co,
He is survived by his wife. Harriet Stinson Keegan: a daughter. Mrs. Florence K. Bryan of Auburn: two sons, H. Brett of Skaneateles Falls and Robert T. Keegan of Marcellus: three brothers. Harry B. and Leo F. of Skaneateles Falls and Cleveland T. Keegan of Rochester: and nine grandchildren. A son. Charlse J. Keegan. was lost In action off Ouam. May 11. 1945.
