Dies Downstate

Starkville, July 25-(Special)-R.O.Kernegay,77, one of the oldest citizens of the Sturges community, died in Meridian.
The body was brought to the homestead and intered Thursday in the Pleasant Ridge cemetery near Bradley, the Rev.
L.L. Link, pastor of the Longview Baptist church, conducting the funeral rites. Mr.Kernegay was a pioneer citizen and for the past twenty years his health was impaired. He is survived by his wife, four sons, H.E.Kernegay of McComb City, S.S.Kernegay of Paducah,Ky., F.M.Kerengay of McCool and Tom Kerengay of Sturgis, two daughters, Mrs.Frank Smith of Sturgis and Mrs.Basswell of Self Creek.
