She was employed as a bookkeeper. She did taxes for H&R Block and was self-employed, doing taxes at home. She also worked as a recruiter for the Air Force.
Mary Armstrong was born Nov. 16, 1919, in Guymon, Okla. She married Willard Lanham in 1952 in Tuskegee, Ala. He died in 1989.
During World War II, she served as a staff sergeant in the Air Force.
Survivors include sons, Robert, Bettendorf, and Willard R., Long Island, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; sisters, Mamie Guilio, Phoenix, Lula Fritz, Kansas City, Mo., and Gladys Marriott, Raytown, Mo.; and a brother, Forrest Armstrong, Kansas City, Mo.
