SOUTHWICK - Wilbur M. Barkyoumb, 87, died April 23, 2011 at Westfield Care and Rehab in Westfield, MA.

He was born on September 19, 1923 in Georgia, VT, one of 15 children of the late Charles and Emma (Gilbeau) Barkyoumb.

A resident of Southwick for many years, he previously lived in Westfield where he had worked at Digital Corporation. He will be remembered for coaching Little League baseball in Westfield for fifteen years. He also enjoyed the races at Riverside Speedway and Hinsdale, Springfield Falcons games, horseshoes and gardening.

Predeceased by his parents, his wife, Mary (Brazee) Barkyoumb and 13 brothers and sisters, he is survived by his daughter, Linda Marie Torrey, and her husband, Barker, of Montgomery, MA; his sister, Marlene Carney, of Vernon, CT and many other family members.

Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate the life of Wilbur beginning at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill Street , Springfield, MA with a service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Westfield.
