FUNERAL HERE FRIDAY FOR D.D. REEVES, FORMER RESIDENT
Donald Dwight Reeves, 64, died Friday, March 26, at his home in Des Moines, following an illness of about a year. He had entered the Veterans' Hospital in Des Moines the first of the year and was dismissed two weeks ago. His condition became critical last Saturday.
Mr. Reeves was born April 13, 1888, at Sidney, Ia., the son of the late John and Martha Metheny Reeves. In 1914 he came to the Anita Vicinity and returned here after service in the army during World War I. He was married to Miss Gladys Teal of Anita in December, 1919. To this union four children were born.
They family moved to Guthrie Center for 12 years, and have made their home in Des Moines for the past 12 years.
Survivors are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Lorane Miller and Mrs. Martha Mortenson: a son, Donald and four grandchildren, all of Des Moines; two brothers, Cleo of Atlantic and Ivan of Sidney. One son died in infancy.
Funeral services were conducted at the Anita Methodist church Sunday afternoon by the Rev. J. Milton Kinney, and burial was in Evergreen cemetery. Music was furnished by Sid Larson, with Mrs. Eric Osen at the organ. Pall bearers were Char. Robinson, Ted Knowlton, Floyd Gissibl, Tom Burns, Phil McCosh, and Bob Cooper. In charge of flowers were Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Gissibl and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Crabtree
