After graduating from high school she attended USAO in Chickasha, OK, obtaining a teaching degree. She taught in small country schools near Carnegie and Verden. She began teaching in Verden Schools in 1961 and retired in 1980. She was well known for her musical singing groups made up of students that performed at the state fair, school events, etc. She was a member of the Verden First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband,Otis, three sisters, and two brothers. Survivors include: husband Floyd Kidwell, daughter Marla Brown of Salina, OK, Grandsons Kevin and Jody Brown and five great grandchildren.
