Nancy Lu (Lamoreaux) Larsen, age 73, of Eagle, Idaho, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2011 in Provo, Utah, after a brief illness.

She was born February 10, 1938, to Orell Fred and Mary Amelia Lamoreaux in Quincy, California, and was raised in Preston, Idaho and Richfield, Utah. She married Terry Larsen on December 21, 1956, and together they raised three children in California and Utah. They were later divorced.

Nancy was fun-loving and had a playful sense of humor. She was loved by all and had the ability to draw people to her with her endearing charm and quick wit. She enjoyed practical jokes and making people laugh. She had a keen eye for detail and worked as an inspector for Nabisco, Parker Packing, and Radex before retiring.

She also enjoyed hunting, camping, movies, reading, photography, flowers, and most of all being with her family and friends. She was born into a musical family and was proud of her perfect pitch. She was her ward choir director and lifetime member of the LDS Church.

Nancy is survived by her three children, Terri (and Bill) Ross of Eagle, Idaho, Russell Larsen of Murray, Utah, Dave Larsen (and Kelly Madsen) of Taylorsville, brother Richard, brother Jon, sister Pat Sorenson, six grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. She was known as Grammy to her grandchildren and great-grand-children, and others considered her a surrogate mother (Mama) and grandmother (Grams). She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Shane and Tom. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held in her honor on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. The location will be at the LDS Chapel at 1495 Tamarack Road, Taylorsville, Utah, near 4500 South and Redwood Road (1700 West). Following the funeral service, there will be a short celebration of her life in video format in the Relief Society room of the building.
Interment will follow in the Murray City Cemetery.
