Obituary

James Biggs Died August 5th, 1906, Aged Eighty-Five Years.

The following is an obituary notice of the father of Mrs. L.F. Johnson of Beaver township. James Biggs was born the 15th day of March 1821, at Elizabeth, N.J., where he lived with his parents until he was fifteen years of age, when he moved with them to Chester, Meigs county, Ohio. He was married to Rachel Bruce in 1850, and moved in 1857 to Marshall county, Kansas. He was the father of two children, a son and a daughter, Clinton and Dora Biggs. The latter is the wife of L.F. Johnson. Mr. Biggs has made his home for the past twenty years with his daughter.

He died at two o'clock the afternoon of August 5th, 1906, at the ripe age of eighty-five years, three months and ten days. Mr. Biggs was a gentleman kindly disposed, and highly respected in the community in which he lived. He was affectionately cared for in the home of his daughter, and was loved by his children and grandchildren. The funeral services were held at the Johnson home at two o'clock August 6th conducted by Rev. S.W. Stophlet and the body was laid to rest in the Tannehill cemetery.
