Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at Flohr’s Lutheran church for Mrs. Alice Frances Herring, 42, wife of Curtis Edgar Herring, of Highland township, near Orrtanna, who died at the Warner hospital, Thursday morning of complications, following a brief illness. Interment was in the cemetery adjoining the church.
Mrs. Herring became ill after she attended a meeting of the Adams county farm bureau at the Eagle hotel. Tuesday evening and was removed to the hospital the following day.
She was the youngest daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Taylor) Deardorff, and was born in Franklin township, near Mt. Carmel church.
Mr. And Mrs. Herring were married May 3, 1912.
Surviving are her husband, five sons, Melvin C., Orrtanna; Chester G., Jay w., Ira h. and Glenn K. Herring, all at home; one grandchild; three sisters, Rms. William Shindledecker, near Mt. Carmel church; Mrs. Jacob Sharrah near Cashtown, and Mrs. Jacob McDannell, near Orrtanna.
