Corydon Foote was 13 when he enlisted in the Union Army as a drummer boy. He threatened to run away from home if his parents didn't let him enlist.

FOOTE -Corydon E. Foote, 928 Garland St., age 95, died Monday, Jan. 10, 1944, at the residence. Funeral services will be held 1:30 P. M., Wednesday, Jan. 12, 1944, from the Rose Chapel, Algoe-Gundry Mortuary, Mr. Merton officiating. Burial in /evergreen Cemetery. Body will be at the mortuary. He was born in Whigville, Mich., Jan. 9, 1849, the son of Eli and Marana Foote, and had been a lifelong resident of this community. Surviving are: one daughter, Mrs. Herbert A. Kline of Flint; one nephew, Alfonso Foote of Flint; two grandnephews; one niece, Mrs. William Richards of Davison.
