Born June 22,1920, in Princeton, he was the son of the late James K. Tuggle and Stella Mills Tuggle.
Charles was a graduate of Princeton High School and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict
serving with the U.S. Army.
Charles retired as a customer service representative for Columbia Gas Corporation on Straley Avenue in
Princeton where he served and knew everyone in the area. He was a member of First Christian Church on Straley
Avenue, Princeton where he served on various committees within the church.
Charles loved his family, and he enjoyed fishing, raising flowers and gardening. He was a life member of the
Bluefield Moose Lodge and had been active with the American Red Cross and the Senior Citizen Program in
Mercer County.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Crews Tuggle; a grandson, Russell Eugene
George; along with five siblings, Roy and James Kenneth Tuggle, Reba Tuggle, Edith Tuggle and Hazel Mingo.
Survivor include his daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth "Beth" and Gary Owens of Knoxville, Tenn.; son, Eugene
George of Fort Washington, Md.; two grandchildren, Amanda Gail Tuggle and Charles Robert Tuggle.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 23, 2011 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial
Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor William Pollack officiating. Burial will follow in
Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
Friends may visit with the family today (Friday) from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
