Residence: Antioch, Indiana. Enlisted as a Private on 29 December 1863 in Company G, 130th Infantry Regiment Indiana. Mustered Out Company G, 130th Infantry Regiment Indiana on 2 December 1865 at Charlotte, North Carolina.

Married Harriet Bennett on 5 March 1868 in Huntngton Co, Indiana; they were the parents of William, Edward, Charles, Carrie, Asa, Myrtle, Emma and John Jr. Harriet died 24 Jan 1900.

He applied for a pension on 1 April 1882 from the state of Indiana - application #444,844.

1900: Residing Lagro Twsp, Wabash Co, Indiana. Widowered; father of Asa (19, laborder - garden), Myrtle, Emma and John. Occupation: Grocery store.

Married Rebecca Kramer on 14 May 1901 in Marion Co, Indiana.

1910: Residing Lagro Twsp, Wabash Co, Indiana. Husband of Rebecca (2nd marriage). Own income.
