The Tattnall County native had lived in Savannah for twenty years before moving back to Reidsville in the 70's.
She graduated from Georgia Southern College and taught for ten years at White Bluff Elementary School in Savannah and retired from the Reidsville Elementary School.
She was a member of Rome Primitive Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Groover and a granddaughter, Michelle McBride.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Matthew McBride of Reidsville; brother and sisters-in-law, Hugh and Mary Sue Scott and Eula Mae Scott all of Reidsville, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m., Friday at the Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will he held 2:00 p.m., Saturday in the Chapel.
Interment: Rome Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
