Charles Dietzen, of 314 East Eight Street, died in a local hospital in Chattanooga. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Half-Century Club. Funeral services were held at Sts. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church and interment was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.Interesting note:Charles made Christmas cribs for his children. The original crib was brought to this country after the Civil War by the Wenning Family out of Munich, Bavaria. The cribs made were exact copy of the original. He made several of them. He gave one to our Late Monsignor Sullivan, one to our Notre Dame Sisters, one to the Sisters of Perpetual Help Church, east of the Ridge, also one to our Knights of Columbus.
