Mrs. Hattie Stapleton

MEDIAPOLIS - Mrs. Hattie Stapleton, 85, died Thursday at 10:06 p.m. at Mercy hospital in Burlington.

She was born in Des Moines county Sept. 21, 1878, the daughter of John and Mary Tee. May 22, 1902, she married James Stapleton at St. Mary's church in West Burlington.

She was a member of St. Mary's church in Kingston.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Henry Niehaus, Mediapolis; Mrs. Rex McChesney, Muscatine; and Mrs. Dale McNamee, Mediapolis; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Edwin Tee, Burlington; and two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Thorton and Mrs. Cora Hutchcroft, both of Mediapolis.

Her husband, three sisters and two brothers are dead.

Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's church at Kingston with Father E.J. Shephard officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The rosary will be recited at the Fry chapel here Sunday evening at 7:30.
