Mr. Hall, who had been associated with Newark barber shops here for a number of years, apparently knew that the attack was serious, as be bad stopped his car near the curb in West Main Street, west of the bridge.
Passersby noticed the man slumped at the wheel of his car and notified the police department. An investigation was made at 6:17 p.m. and the coroner notified.
A native of Muskingum County, Mr. Hall was the son of the late Nathaniel and Evelyn (Grandstaff) Hall. He attended Muskingum College, and for two years taught at the college.
He had resided in Newark many years and was a member of the Oak Grove Methodist Church of Muskingum County and the local Barber's Union. He lived in 67 North 31st Street.
His wife, Mrs. Edith Hall died Nov. 11, 1946, and he is survived by a brother, Bonner R. Hall of Canton and two sisters, Mrs. John Wright of Zanesville and Mrs. Fred Mautz of Philo.
