Uinta County Herald Posted: Tuesday, Feb 1st, 2011

Edith Louise (Bluemel) Walker of Lyman and Syracuse, Utah passed away on Jan. 29 in Layton, Utah at the age of 79. She was born April 3, 1931 in Lyman to Albert LeVaughn and Elizabeth Bird Bluemel. She was raised in Lyman and married Ronald Clyde Walker on Oct. 18, 1948. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

Preceded in death by her parents, brothers Reed and Max Bluemel; and one grandchild, she leaves a hole in the lives of all who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years and six children: Ronald L. (Sandy), Garth (Ellen), Mark (Nikki), LouAnn (Samasoni) Magalogo, Clair (Patty), and Neal (Sallee), 37 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren and many extended family members.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She worked side by side with her husband and children on the ranch and supported her family in all that they did. She leaves a legacy of love, patience, and kindness to everyone. She never had an unkind word to say about anyone nor did she complain about the ailments that she endured. She was an avid reader and loved a great Western movie. She loved the beauties of nature and going for rides with her family in any season of the year.

Louise was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many responsibilities over the years. She served with her husband in the Palmyra New York Mission at church historical sites.

For the past 13 years, Louise and Ronald have spent their time between Syracuse, Utah and the family ranch in the Bridger Valley. They have had the opportunity of serving in the Ogden Utah Temple and making many lasting friendships in northern Utah.
