Fred Townsend
Fred TOWNSEND, 86, North Manchester, former Akron resident, died at 10:30 p.m. Monday in the Wabash county hospital. He had been ill two years and serious two weeks.
Born April 11, 1886, in Windfall, he was the son of Lawson and Mary Etta DEGOLDIER TOWNSEND. His marriage was Sept. 7, 1907, in Rochester to Sophia FLOOR. A retired farmer, he had resided in North Manchester 14 years, moving from Akron.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Elsie McGEE, North Manchester; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. One son and one half-sister preceded in death.
Final rites will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Sheetz funeral home in Akron. The Rev. Theron HAINES will officiate. Burial will be in the Mount Hope cemetery at Athens. Friends may call at the Funeral home after 7 p.m. Wednesday.
