Betty Jean Roberts was born in Duncanville, Texas. She was 1 of 7 children born to George W & Bettie O Roberts.
She lived on the family farm and went to school in Duncanville until her marriage to John Rackley in 1950. They both worked & lived in Oak Cliff after their marriage, a suburb of Dallas. While living there they had 2 children born to them Robert(Bobbie)and Beverly. Their oldest,Bobbie was born with an illness and pasted away in 1955.
In 1958, they transferred with John's job to Little Rock for a year, then San Antonio, where Sharon was born, Austin, Taylor and Houston,Texas where John, Jr was born. Betty was a stay at home Mom during those years, while her husband, John worked as a Sales Manager & was a Baptist Preacher.
In 1968, the family moved back to Dallas and Betty started working outside the home.
She modeled and worked trade shows in Dallas until she started her own Needlepoint Company Betty's Needlepoint. After she sold the company she opened 2 Up Scale Ladies Resale Stores for several years until she sold those and went to work for Elizabeth Arden Cosmetics.
